Boy Spyce Mavin Records New Signee is one of the musical sensations of the moment in the Nigerian music industry, that once again shows Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has excellent eyes for spotting talents. He did it in the days of Mohits with his partner Dbanj recruiting Wande Cole, Dprince, and Kswitch. After Mohits splitted, he recruited Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Dija, and Ricardo Banks whom all gave us the golden age of Mavin Records family Dorobucci collab. He also went on to recruit Johnny Drille, DNA twins, Ladipoe, Crayon, and Mavin Records Diamond boy Rema.


Indeed, Don jazzy has been a blessing to the Nigerian music industry at large. Many people with his achievements so far, would have slowed down on their contribution to their field of endeavor, but he showed the Nigerian music space he is not in any way stopping soon when he unveiled Ayra Starr with her self titled EP in January 2021. Ayra has since worked her way to the top of the Nigerian Music Space and the world at large releasing an 11 track all hits chart topper album titled '19 & Dangerous' in August 2021.


While we were yet to have enough of Ayra Starr's '19 & Dangerous' album, Don Jazzy unveiled another super talented singer Magixx as the new member of the Mavin Record Family in September 2021. Magixx is currently enjoying a chart topping single titled 'Love Don't Cost A Dime', which he recently remixed with his record label mate Ayra Starr, from his debut EP 'Magixx'.

Boy Spyce Unbelievable Facts

Boy Spyce real name is Ugbekile David Osemeke. He was born on the 10th of May 2001. He grew up in Isolo Lagos State Nigeria, but hails from Edo State. He is the last of the 6 children of Mr and Mrs Ugbekile. Boy Spyce got his Nursery and Primary education in Isolo and then proceeded to Lagos Model College, Kankon Badagary, where he graduated in 2017. He is said to be studying accounting at a tertiary institution undisclosed for several reasons best known to the artiste.


Musically, it is said that Boy Spyce got motivated to become a musician after witnessing several performances and studio sessions of a band his elder brother was a part of. He got his first stage while in secondary school after his friends tipped one of their teachers that he is a very good singer. Reports has it that he represented his secondary school in various musical competitions before graduating in 2017.

Dropping a Wizkid and Tems Essence video cover on the 24th of March 2021 that trended on social media, via his official Instagram handle @boyspyce, got him to the limelight and got internet users all over Nigeria praising his musical talent. The video has since gotten over 611 thousand views and still counting. Reports has it that it was this video that got Don Jazzy interested in him. Before his Essence freestyle, he had dropped Korede Bello's 'Michael Jackson' Cover, Davido's 'Risky' cover, Beyonce & Wizkid's 'Brown Skin Girl' cover, Gyakie's 'For You', and may others.

Boy Spyce dropped his first official music single titled 'Weather For Two on the 25th of January 2020 on audiomack and got over 10k listens. He also dropped 2 other songs 'Smile' and '24 Seconds.' On joining Mavin Records, he dropped a 5 song self titled EP on the 15th of April 2022, as it is Don Jazzys Mavin Records culture. Boy Spyce EP contain the following songs:

All songs on the EP were written by Boy Spyce. The Boy Spyce EP was Mixed and Mastered by Johnny Drille, his label senior and Executive produced by Don Jazzy for Mavin Records. On dropping, the EP immediately became the number 1 album of Apple Music Nigeria.

The EP was followed by a music video for one of the songs 'Nobody' which dropped on Youtube the same day (April 15th) . It has since gotten over 283k views and still growing.

On unveiling him, Don Jazzy via his official Instagram handle @donjazzy, revealed that Boy Spyce has been a member of the Mavin Records Family since Christmas Day 2019, and he has since been going through artist development recording songs back to back.
