Jigawa Police Apprehend 17-Year-Old for N900,000 POS Scamm

  In a recent development, the Jigawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended a 17-year-old boy, Abdulmuminu Tasi'u, for defr@uding a Point of Sale (POS) vendor of a substantial sum, totaling N900,000. The incident occurred in the Maigatari Local Government Area of the state.

According to the command's spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the suspect confessed to the fr@udulent act and will face charges following a thorough investigation. A statement released over the weekend confirmed the arrest and shed light on the details of the incident.


"On 03/01/24 at about 1400hrs, one Aminu Mustafa ‘m’ age 38yrs of Unguwar Dodo quarters Maigatari LGA, who is a Point of Sale (POS) vendor, reported at Maigatari Police Station that, on the same date at about 1245hrs, an unknown person came to his POS shop to withdraw money. After giving him the POS Machine, he fr@udulently used it to transfer the sum of Nine Hundred Thousand Naira (N900,000.00k) into his account," the statement read.


Upon receiving the report, the police acted swiftly, leading to the arrest of Abdulmuminu Tasi'u, who hails from Adakawa quarters, Dala LGA, Kano State. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the commission of the offense.
